Jacob’s Pale Ale
(IBU 30, ABV 5%)
This ale celebrates the heritage of our pioneering brewer, Jacob Letterstedt. Revisiting a 155 year old recipe discovered in our Newlands archives, the 3 barley malt varieties deliver a rich colour. The bold flavour is complemented by traditional English hop aromatics.
Caramel malt aroma from the crystal malt – toffee and toffee apple
Earthy english hop aroma.
Sweetish biscuit caramel notes with English yeast fruitiness initially.
After swallowing this will be balanced with a clean hop bitterness which should not overpower the maltiness but balance it. Bitterness will spread from the back of the tongue and move forward into the palate.
